Fabrizio Romano has revealed the latest on Arsenal duo Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey.

The pair have both been linked with departures from the Emirates this summer, with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta known to be actively seeking reinforcements both in attack and in the centre of the midfield.

The Saudi Pro League has emerged as a potential destination for both players, yet Romano suggests that a switch to the Middle East is not advanced for either star.

“Two Arsenal stars have also been linked with Saudi,” Romano reports on the Daily Briefing.

“Firstly, Gabriel Jesus has been mentioned as a target, but at the moment he is not talking to any Saudi clubs. There are no proper negotiations ongoing, it’s just about interest. It’s the same for Thomas Partey - he was a target for Saudi last summer, but he’s not in contact with them at the moment.”

Reiss Nelson transfer update

Arsenal are expected to conduct a transfer overhaul this summer, with as many as 10 players leaving the club in deals that could help Arteta raise funds for additional signings.

FootballTransfers understands the Gunners are ready to make another record spend in the forthcoming window as they seek to claim a first Premier League title in more than 20 years – a possibility that remains active going into the final day of the season but is now unlikely after Manchester City beat Tottenham 2-0 on Tuesday.

Reiss Nelson is one of those who is likely to be able to leave, and Romano discussed his case, too.

“Another name to watch at Arsenal is Reiss Nelson,” he said. “It’s a possibility that he could be leaving the club.

“There was interest in Nelson last summer but he ended up signing a new contract. Still, he will now consider proposals in the summer and Arsenal too; they’re not desperate to part ways, only in case there’s a good proposal in the summer transfer window.”
