Arsenal set for a free run at major target as PSG make Mbappe decision
Arsenal’s transfer window will be shaped by PSG’s plans for what they will do once Kylian Mbappe leaves for Real Madrid. And the news is looking good for the Gunners.
Arsenal and PSG appeared set to clash in the transfer market over Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes. Both clubs are seeking central midfield reinforcements, with the Brazil international appearing on the shortlists of both – at least until now.
While Mikel Arteta continues to see the former Lyon player as a viable partner for Declan Rice in the heart of the Gunners’ midfield – albeit one who would force the England star to play in a deeper role – PSG seem to have dropped their interest in the player.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs reports on X: “Understand PSG are now no longer in the conversation for Bruno Guimaraes. No plans to trigger his release clause or negotiate with Newcastle. Bernardo Silva remains a target.”
This is positive news for Arsenal on two fronts. Not only can they strengthen themselves if they meet Bruno’s release clause, but it is also entirely possible that their direct Premier League rivals Manchester City lose one of the star players Pep Guardiola typically turns to in big games.
Guimaraes' release clause has been set at €116 million (£100m), which Arsenal would need to pay in full to sign the 26-year-old midfielder.

Four Mbappe replacements
Indeed, Jacobs reports that it promises to be a very active transfer window from the Ligue 1 side.
He reports: “Once Kylian Mbappe’s exit terms are finalised and formalised PSG will be in for a busy summer.
“Rather than spending all their freed up budget on a like-for-like replacement, PSG are expected to continue their youth-led project adding a striker, winger, central midfielder and centre-back. Napoli's Victor Osimhen still a name to watch.”
Mbappe is set to leave PSG on a free transfer when his contract expires, with Real Madrid his inevitable destination.
