The Tractor Boys are back in the Premier League for the first time in 22 years and they are intent on staying in the top flight long-term. Backed by wealthy owners and celebrities such as Ed Sheeran, the Suffolk side will have money to spend and they are ready to put it to good use.

Indeed, Ipswich have already managed to tie down in-demand head coach Kieran McKenna to a new long-term contract amid interest from the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea and Brighton. McKenna has become one of the best-paid coaches in the Premier League in the process.

With the coaching question resolved, Ipswich are now intent on sorting out their transfer business and one of the most pressing issues is the future of Omari Hutchinson, who enjoyed a brilliant loan spell with the club in the Championship and has publically stated his intention of remaining in East Anglia.

Ipswich to launch bid

Talks regarding a potential transfer for the highly-rated 20-year-old have been ongoing for some time and Ipswich now look set to take the first concrete steps towards striking a deal.

Rather than attempting a new loan, TEAMtalk claims that the Tractor Boys are looking to sign the former Arsenal youngster permanently straight away. It is asserted that an offer of 'at least £20m (€23m)' could be enough to get Chelsea to sell, with his exit representing much-needed 'pure profit' on the Blues books.

The outlet reports that Ipswich's first offer is expected to arrive in the coming days, with Champions League-bound Bundesliga side Stuttgart also interested in Hutchinson. However, the Germans are said to be unwilling to match Chelsea's asking price.

Hutchinson could be the first arrival of an ambitious summer window from an Ipswich side also tentatively linked with Arsenal's €40m-rated striker Eddie Nketiah.
