Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he remains in the dark about his Chelsea future.

Despite a massive upturn in form since the turn of the year, Mauricio Pochettino's position as Chelsea boss remains insecure. In recent days, it has been claimed that the Argentine is set for an end-of-season review with the club's owners and sporting directors that will decide his fate.

Indeed, earlier on Monday, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the 52-year-old is facing 'crucial' days regarding his position. Common sense would dictate that the coach be kept on board after leading the Blues back into Europe, but things have rarely made sense at Chelsea in the Todd Boehly era.

Indeed, it has been revealed that the west London giants have begun looking at Ipswich Town head coach Kieran McKenna as a potential replacement for Pochettino. Long-time target Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, also remains in the frame, according to the Evening Standard.

Now, Pochettino himself has spoken about his future, revealing that he had a 'very nice' dinner with Boehly and that he is unaware of upcoming crunch talks.

Pochettino on Chelsea future

Speaking after Chelsea's 2-1 win over Bournemouth, the Argentine said: "I don't have any idea about this [my future]. All I can tell you is on Friday night, Todd invited me for a dinner and it was a very nice dinner together."

"But I don't know about the rumours about the review. My staff tomorrow are flying for their holidays. I am going to stay in London for a few more days. My phone is going to be on."

"I am not going to explain [what was said during the Boehly dinner]. It is only for you to know that I was with him. I'm not going to talk about this. If I invite you along, and you and me have dinner, it's not for bad things. I don't believe that."

Pochettino recently hinted that he could quit the club at the end of the season but eventually backpedalled. His future still remains in the air despite the fact that the season has now ended.
