Wycombe in advanced talks to sign ex-Luton prospect Tyreeq Bakinson
Free agent midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson is in advanced talks over a move to League One's Wycombe Wanderers, FootballTransfers understands.
The 25-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Sheffield Wednesday following the expiry of the contract he signed in 2022.
And Wycombe are hoping to see off competition from Charlton Athletic in order to snap Bakinson up after being impressed with his performances on loan at The Valley in the second half of last season.
After making a temporary move to South London in January, the former Luton Town trainee played 15 games, scoring once.

Bakinson a wanted man
Bakinson had been a regular at Sheffield Wednesday across the previous season, clocking up 32 appearances in all competitions as they were promoted via the League One playoffs.
And it is those contributions that have seen his signing made a priority by Wycombe's new owners as they attempt to build on the club's recent successes.

A takeover by Kazakhstani-Georgian billionaire Mikheil Lomtadze was ratified following the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
And they are hoping Bakinson will become the latest addition to Matt Bloomfield's squad ahead of a promotion push next season.
It remains to be seen, however, whether they are able to fend off Charlton, whose manager Nathan Jones gave Bakinson his professional debut at Luton.
