Liverpool handed transfer boost as key target wants summer move
Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has admitted that he is ready to leave the club amid interest from Liverpool and Newcastle United.
The Cameroon international joined the Bees back in 2019 and he has established himself as a top quality Premier League performer since Thomas Frank’s side achieved promotion in 2021.
Mbeumo scored nine goals and provided six assists in just 25 English top flight games last season, with his campaign severely curtailed by an ankle injury.

However, the 24-year-old is now back to full fitness and is ready for the next step in his career.
According to L’Equipe, Liverpool and Newcastle are both monitoring Mbeumo’s situation at Brentford as they ponder making a move this summer.
The Cameroon forward, who has two goals in 11 caps for his nation, has been touted as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, with the Egypt international heavily linked with a Saudi Pro League switch.

In addition, Newcastle are also looking to sign a new right winger as they look to purchase an upgrade on Miguel Almiron.
Mbeumo’s current Brentford contract runs until 2026, with an option for a further year, but he now envisages a future away from the club.
What has Bryan Mbeumo said?
“I have spent five years at Brentford, at a club that has allowed me to grow and pass a milestone but yes, I would like to play in the biggest competitions, at the best clubs,” he told L’Equipe (via Get French Football News).
“It is tantalising to see some big clubs interested in me. We will see.”
Mbeumo joined Brentford for a mere €6.5 million from Troyes in 2019, but his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) now stands at a whopping €54.7m.
Brentford could also lose Ivan Toney this summer, with the England international keen on leaving the club for pastures new.
