Eredivisie MVP reveals Slot's Liverpool would be his ideal next club
Johan Bakayoko is being tracked by several top clubs outside of the Netherlands and it would require a crazy turn of events for him to remain at PSV.
In conversation with Voetbal International, Bakayoko spoke out about his expected departure from Eindhoven. Although the speculation has been in full force for months, the attacker has no idea yet where he will play next season.
“To be honest, I don't know yet,” Bakayoko responds. The 21-year-old right winger knows that this summer, the time will come when he will have to make a choice between staying at PSV or leaving. But the Belgian has not yet reached that point: “I feel appreciated here.”

However, Bakayoko already knows what boxes his next club has to tick: “Appreciation, good coach, good teammates, ambition to become champions and play in the Champions League.” Liverpool have long been linked with the scintillating winger and it seems as though they do tick every box.
Incoming Reds boss Arne Slot will certainly know all about Bakayoko's talents, with the Belgian netting an assist against his Feyenoord in December. Though Mohamed Salah will remain at Liverpool, the Egyptian isn't getting any younger and Bakayoko seems an ideal long-term successor.
Eredivisie MVP in demand
However, the attacker, who is still under contract with PSV until 2026, does not want to move just for the sake of making a transfer: “I feel that we have a good team [at PSV], which means I can also improve here.”
In recent transfer periods, clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Burnley were already after the PSV attacker. It is unlikely that a club like Burnley will be able to afford Bakayoko this summer, though.
The youngster has become the Eredivisie's most valuable player this season and he will have the chance to boost his value further at Euro 2024. Bakayoko currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of a whopping €63.2 million.

PSV General Manager Marcel Brands has said that Bakayoko can no longer be signed for fees previously touted. When PSG and Burnley were interested, they were quoted a price tag of €35m, but this summer, the soon-to-be Dutch champions will demand more.
“Did he say that?”, Bakayoko responded in amazement to Brands' quotes while speaking to ESPN. “I really don't know what to say to that. He has his opinion.”
