Man Utd coach swap? Ten Hag emerges as SURPRISE Tuchel replacement
Erik ten Hag is mentioned by BILD as a possible successor to Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.
The current coach of Manchester United previously worked as head coach of Bayern Munich II in Bavaria and is therefore familiar with the club's philosophy. After Ten Hag was previously linked with a return to Ajax, the Dutch coach now appears to be on Bayern Munich's list.
Der Rekordmeister previously set their sights on Xabi Alonso, but the Spaniard preferred a longer stay at new Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. After Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick also snubbed Bayern, the German side are now turning their attention to their former reserve coach.

Ten Hag, who is under contract at Man Utd until 2025, is under considerable pressure after a disappointing season that will likely only end with Europa League qualification. For that reason, the club are said to be analysing Ten Hag's work behind the scenes before making a decision on his future.
Ten Hag back to Bayern?
A new challenge at Bayern Munich could possibly provide a solution. The coach was under contract in Bavaria between 2013 and 2015. Afterwards, Ten Hag returned to the Netherlands to work at FC Utrecht.
Ten Hag worked closely with Pep Guardiola in Germany and it is thought that the Man City boss was very pleased with Ten Hag's approach at Bayern II. Ten Hag is also still the main candidate to succeed John van 't Schip's at Ajax.

However, Ajax have set a deadline: club chief Alex Kroes has put Erik ten Hag at the top of his wish list. He is his man and Kroes will wait for him but only until the end of this month because they have to make a decision by June 1.
The chances of Ten Hag returning to Germany appear slim as things stand, but if it were to materialise, he could ironically be replaced at Man Utd by departing Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel, who is said to be very keen on the job at Old Trafford.
