Erik ten Hag isn't the only coach causing Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS headaches ahead of the summer.

The Man Utd boss is under major pressure, but the Red Devils are reluctant to pull the trigger. A lack of high-level alternatives and the need to pay the Dutchman a hefty compensation is making the prospect of sacking Ten Hag an unattractive one.

Nevertheless, new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS camp may have no choice but to sack him after this season. The 4-0 demolition at the hands of Crystal Palace was proof that the wheels have come fully off and it is highly doubtful that Ten Hag is still the right man for the job.

Worryingly, the 54-year-old isn't the only INEOS coach facing an uncertain future. Francesco Farioli at Ratcliffe-owned Ligue 1 side Nice is looking increasingly likely to jump ship upon the conclusion of this campaign.

Farioli to Ajax?

At least that's according to Di Marzio. Farioli has become one of the top candidates to succeed John van 't Schip at Ajax and the Dutch giants are reportedly making good progress in their pursuit of the Italian.

The Eredivisie side were officially rejected by Graham Potter on Thursday and are still looking for a new coach. Erik ten Hag is said to be the priority target, but the Dutchman won't entertain talks regarding his future until the end of the season.

It is asserted that Farioli's move to Amsterdam is already 'close' after positive developments in recent hours and days. Ajax are currently fifth in the Eredivisie and missing out on European football could prove devastating to Farioli's project before he has even officially come on board.

David Ornstein is reporting that former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is facing an uncertain future at the club due to the financial problems a lack of European football could create.
