"Fofana's exit in the summer window is almost guaranteed as he's not even negotiating new deal," reports Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder enjoyed a fantastic season in Ligue 1, helping Monaco to a second place finish behind Paris Saint-Germain.

His form has already been rewarded with a spot in Didier Deschamps' France squad for the upcoming European Championship in Germany.

And, he could yet receive more good news in the form of an offer from one of the Premier League's top clubs.

Man Utd are looking for a Casemiro replacement, as the Brazilian showed signs of regression in the 2023-24 campaign.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking for a long-term partner for Declan Rice because Thomas Partey has seemingly played his last game for the North London side.

Monaco CEO on Fofana sale

While speaking to GFFN, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro admitted that Fofana is likely to be sold this summer.

"There were good opportunities for him to leave last summer," Scuro said. "It was his decision to stay because of his personal goals.

"It was a very good decision for us because he had a very good and consistent season, for him too as it was probably his best season at AS Monaco.

"He is probably one of the players that we are open to selling. We will see the opportunities that he has. It is still too early to make a decision." Fofana currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €21.5 million.
