Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Willian Pacho, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Ecuador international has become one of the Bundesliga's most intriguing defensive prospects. Signed from Royal Antwerp by Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer, Pacho was initially expected to really come into his own next season.

However, the 22-year-old has been an instant success for the Eagles. Though Frankfurt have not had the most consistent or impressive of seasons, they could yet sneak into the Champions League if Borussia Dortmund upset Real Madrid in the final, and Pacho has been a standout so far.

While Frankfurt are not particularly keen on losing Pacho this summer, they are willing to listen to offers for the left-footed centre-back. It has been claimed that a fee in the region of €60 million could break their resolve.

Liverpool, Arsenal keen

German media has been reporting for a couple of months now that both Liverpool and Arsenal are carefully watching Pacho's development at Frankfurt. Liverpool, it seems, are the more serious of the two regarding their interest in the Ecuadorian.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are 'really attentive' to the 22-year-old, though the Italian transfer expert was quick to point out that, with the summer window still more than a month away and Arne Slot not officially announced as the new Liverpool coach yet, it is too early for concrete negotiations.

“At the moment I’m hearing Pacho has been one of the players that they’ve been monitoring," Romano told GIVEMESPORT. They’ve been really attentive to the Eintracht situation, so they appreciate the way they play and they believe that there are some players with really good talent there."

"Liverpool have been scouting and following the player, but there is still no negotiation between clubs or on the player’s side to the club. It’s still early.”
