Arsenal set for another Chelsea transfer battle over new Ukraine star
Arsenal have enquired about Artem Dovbyk, according to a report.
The Ukraine striker enjoyed a spectacular season with Girona in LaLiga, qualifying for the Champions League and winning the Pichichi, the division's Golden Boot with 24 goals.
Dovbyk, naturally, has attracted the attention of other clubs, particularly in Italy, with the striker himself confirming ahead of Euro 2024 that his agent was talking to Serie A sides, with Napoli and AC Milan linked.

With Ukraine's Euro campaign about to kick off, talk over the future of the 26-year-old has gone a bit quiet and will likely remain so until Ukraine exit the tournament.
The forward also has Premier League admirers, with FootballTransfers recently revealing that Chelsea have shortlisted the Girona man. Now, it seems that the Blues aren't the only London giants keen.
Arsenal make contact
At least that is according to Rudy Galetti, who reports that Arsenal have enquired about Dovbyk's availability. The transfer specialist claims that the Ukraine international is one of the names currently being considered by the Gunners following Benjamin Sesko's decision to extend his RB Leipzig contract.
It wouldn't be the first time that Arsenal and Chelsea went head-to-head for a Ukraine star. The two London sides famously struggled for Mykhailo Mudryk's signature in early 2023, with the Blues eventually winning the battle but, seemingly, losing the war, with the €70 million winger yet to impress.

More recently, both clubs were linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, who has made no secret of his desire to move to a top-five league this summer. His side won't entertain any offers until after the Euros, however, as they are keen for Sudakov to boost his value in Germany.
