Massive BLOW for Arsenal as Sesko STAYS at Leipzig - Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano has delivered a massive blow to Arsenal with the news that Benjamin Sesko is set to sign a new contract with Leipzig.
Romano reports on Tuesday morning that Sesko has decided to stay at the German club, despite Arsenal’s attempts to sign him this summer.
Sesko will sign a new contract with Leipzig with an improved salary.

It is a decision, Romano reports, that is similar to the one Erling Haaland made when he was at Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland signed a contract with Dortmund then with an agreement over a future exit to a big club, which was eventually Man City.
Romano reports that Sesko will do the same in his new contract, opening up the door to a big move from 2025 onwards.
Arsenal miss out on Sesko
Sesko had been Arsenal’s number one priority for the summer transfer market as they aim to sign a top striker.
But we reported that the Gunners had not submitted a bid big enough to trigger the player’s release clause of €65 million.
FootballTransfers can confirm that Arsenal launched a bid of €55m for the 21-year-old in the hope this was accepted.
It wasn’t and now Romano reports that Sesko is set to sign a new contract to stay at Leipzig next season.
Arsenal will now have to look elsewhere for a new striker, with another target in Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna close to moving to AC Milan.
Sesko scored 18 goals in 42 games for his club last season and will go to Euro 2024 with Slovenia later this month.
