It’s been a busy transfer window for Aston Villa so far, and it doesn’t look like it’s about to slow down with Saudi Arabian interest reportedly brewing for the club’s record signing.

Villa’s qualification to the Champions League last season has definitely attracted some of the club’s key players.

One of those is Moussa Diaby, who has enjoyed a brilliant campaign at Aston Villa after becoming the club’s record signing last summer.

Diaby is an integral cog in Unai Emery’s team, who has provided a lot of threat going forward.

But now it seems like Aston Villa could face a fight to keep him at the club. According to transfer expert Rudy Galetti, two Saudi Arabian sides have set their sights on Diaby this summer.

The 24 year old has a long-term contract at the club until 2028 and Aston Villa will be reluctant to let him go.

Saudi Arabian sides would have to offer a significant fee in order to stand a chance of signing him.

It is moot whether the French international would even be open to a move. The Saudi Arabian clubs are yet to have approached Diaby’s representatives according to Galetti.

With Champions League football on the horizon, Diaby has a lot of incentives to stay at Aston Villa this summer.

However, if the right financial terms can be met, there’s always a chance he can be prized away from Villa.

Saudi Arabians clubs have shown last summer the financial power that they wield attracting some of the biggest names in football to the Saudi Pro League.

Although for now much needs to happen in order for any prospective buyer to secure a deal for Diaby, who seems content to stay and compete in the Champions League for Emery’s side next season.
