Chelsea 'reach agreement' for £30m midfielder - Ornstein

Chelsea and Leicester City have reached an agreement for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, according to reports.

The clubs have been in talks over the weekend but now David Ornstein has revealed that a deal has been reached, despite the player looking like at one point he was heading to Brighton.

The Athletic reporter broke the news that a £30million deal had been agreed and the 25-year-old is set to complete medical today, with a contract set until 2030.

On Thursday, it was revealed that Chelsea had made initial contact with the Leicester promotion hero to understand the conditions of a potential transfer.

New boss Enzo Maresca is keen to reunite with the midfielder who helped him achieve promotion with Leicester after he netted 12 goals and recorded 14 assistss as his Foxes side marched to the Championship title last term.

Chelsea's enquiry saw Dewsbury-Hall pump the breaks on a transfer to Brighton, where he was believed to be headed to. The Seagulls had been engaged in talks with Leicester over a potential swap deal, with Poland international Jakub Moder heading the other way, but that move collapsed.

Chelsea's offer

According to Fabrizio Romano, that deal has now collapsed, Chelsea stepped up their chase of Dewsbury-Hall. Moreover, the Blues, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, made their bid.

Earlier on Friday, FootballTransfers was able to confirm that Chelsea had become the favourites for the 25-year-old's signature and we also revealed that Leicester would be willing to accept a fee closer to £30m despite valuing Dewsbury-Hall at £40m. Today, the news was that a deal was completed for the 25-year-old.
