Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona teenager Marc Guiu as they continue their search for the best young talent in world football.

Guiu, 18, scored on his first-team debut for the Blaugrana and has made a total of seven senior appearances for his boyhood club, netting on two occasions.

The Blues have been monitoring his situation at Camp Nou and have now asked Barcelona whether a deal would be possible, according to Guillem Balague.

The Spanish reporter has revealed that Guiu will cost just €6 million, due to a release clause in his Barca contract, with Chelsea considering a summer move.

The teenager was not included in Barcelona’s matchday squad for their final seven LaLiga games of the campaign and he could be set to leave the club this summer.

Sevilla have previously been linked with a move for Guiu, who has fallen down the pecking order at Camp Nou following Vitor Roque’s arrival in January. The Brazilian forward joined Barcelona for €40m and this could help Chelsea’s chances of landing Guiu.

Chelsea’s youth strategy

The Blues have spent over €1 billion on transfers over the past two years and the vast majority of their focus has been on players under the age of 23.

Kendry Paez will join the club in 2025, while Brazilian wonderkid Estevao is also expected to arrive next year after Chelsea reached an agreement with Palmeiras. His move to Stamford Bridge has not yet been made official, however.

Chelsea have also entered the race to sign 19-year-old defender Aaron Anselmino. The west London club have reportedly opened talks with Boca Juniors as they look to sign the young Argentine.

However, they have seemingly missed out on Sport Recife’s Pedro Lima, with the Brazilian on the verge of completing a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
