We reported that the attacker, who is after game-time, is admired by the Blues ahead of the summer transfer window.

Alvarez signed for Man City on a five-and-a-half-year contract for a transfer fee in the region of £14 million in 2022, joining from River Plate.

The youngster has since scored 36 goals in 103 matches in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are on the hunt for a striker to come in and rival Nicholas Jackson for next season, and the Citizens forward is among their options.

The club have also been linked to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but have decided against pursuing a deal due to the Serie A club demanding his full release clause, as well as concerns over whether the Nigerian would fit their blueprint.

Another name linked is RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who is also admired by Arsenal and Manchester United.

Alvarez is another name on that list, with the 24-year-old playing second fiddle to Erling Haaland with the Premier League champions.

Now Fabrizio Romano has provided an update regarding the player’s situation, stating that Man City will demand big money to let the player leave.

“If Man City do allow Julian Alvarez to leave, it would be for big money, as Man City have no intention to sell or loan, it will only happen if the player requests to go and City receives a lot of money,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

Man City have already been burned by selling Chelsea one of their players. Cole Palmer joined the West London club last season and become one of the standout players for them. The 22-year-old scored 25 goals in all competitions last term and was even a nominee for the Premier League Player of the Season.
