Chelsea line up star who snubbed Man Utd as Chalobah replacement
Chelsea are interested in Dayot Upamecano, according to German media.
The Blues are looking to balance the books this summer by generating pure profit from the sales of homegrown stars such as Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher and Omari Hutchinson, who will almost definitely be offloaded, according to Fabrizio Romano.
As for Chalobah and Gallagher, it seems strange that Chelsea would want to offload two very reliable and popular players, but money talks at Stamford Bridge and both were already heavily linked with an exit last summer.

Chelsea are closing in on the free transfer arrival of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham and he will replace departing veteran Thiago Silva. If Chalobah leaves as well, the Blues will need to sign another centre-back and the player they could go for is Dayot Upamecano.
Chelsea want Upamecano
At least that's according to BILD, which reports that Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in the France international, who is expected to start ahead of Arsenal superstar William Saliba at Euro 2024.
Upamecano has never quite managed to fulfil the promise he showed early on in his career and Bayern Munich are ready to move on from the occasionally error-prone centre-back.

The Bavarians would rather sell the Frenchman over Kim Min-jae and Matthijs de Ligt this summer but will only do so at the right price. England has long since been considered Upamecano's next destination after leaving Germany and, a few years ago, he revealed that he almost joined Man Utd.
In 2021, he stated that when he was younger, his parents talked him out of a move to Old Trafford, believing that it was too big a step too soon. This summer, however, he could at last end up in the Premier League.
