Fabrizio Romano has revealed the latest football transfer news, with updates from Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and more.
Chelsea continue to be the major actors in the transfer window, with significant signings and sales expected at Stamford Bridge in the near future.
Romano has issued an update on the player who is likely to be the Blues’ next major buy.

Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea latest
Meanwhile, Chelsea are attempting to hijack a deal for Leicester star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall that previously seemed close to being completed.
“It’s a crazy night for another deal, which is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the midfielder of Leicester City,” Romano confirmed. “He was in Brighton and Jakub Moder was in Leicester to complete a swap deal, with £25m going to Leicester. Everything was agreed.
“But what happened? Chelsea called for Dewsbury-Hall. They asked for information on a deal.
“We know Enzo Maresca was at Leicester last season and is a big fan of the player and so now Chelsea have the chance to hijack the deal. Let’s see what happens.”
The Blues need to make sales in order to fund their transfer business, and Romano says a deal is close to being agreed with Premier League new boys Ipswich.
“The player who could leave in the upcoming days and hours is Omari Hutchinson,” he says. “He did very well in the Championship last season with Ipswich Town. He was the Player of the Season for the club. They’re in the Premier League thanks to Hutchison.
“Now Chelsea and Ipswich are close to an agreement on the permanent transfer of Omari Hutchinson. Chelsea had no intention of loaning him out anymore. Now the agreement is close. It will be more than £20m – probably around £22-23m.
“Also, Chelsea are negotiating a big sell-on clause in the deal. There will be a topic of discussion for the add ons, but there is no chance at the moment of a buy-back clause.”
Arsenal and Chelsea have interest in Calafiori
Romano confirmed Arsenal’s interest in Riccardo Calafiori, whose transfer saga is one that appears destined to change rapidly.
Speaking of Italy’s Euro 2024 sensation, Romano said: “Bologna for the last two or three weeks, were hoping to keep him at the club. But the problem is that after fantastic performances at the Euros, especially against Albania and Croatia, the feeling of Bologna is that they have to look for another player in that position. They’ve tried to resist. They feel it’s impossible.
“Juventus have the green light from the player because Thiago Motta is there, but Bologna and Juve don’t have a good relationship. It’s not easy.
“Bologna are waiting for Premier League clubs to appear. Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the player, but still no bid. Chelsea are still looking for a defender, and also Liverpool could also be a possibility. It’s an open situation.”
New era at Man Utd
Manchester United are entering a new phase, Romano reports, with Erik ten Hag retaining a surprising amount of power for a manager who flirted with the sack lately.
“Ten Hag will have important power to decide together with the board on the transfer market,” Romano said. But it’s important to say, that a new deal is coming for Ten Hag and also changes on the coaching staff. Benni McCarthy’s leaving and so who is coming? Ruud van Nistelrooy is returning as an assistant coach and also Rene Hake, who is the manager of Go Ahead Eagles. It’s the beginning of a new era.”
Arsenal could benefit from Porto problem
Arsenal have reportedly taken a shine to Barcelona defender Mikayil Faye.
While the ‘B’ team player was thought to be destined for Porto, negotiations have hit a stumbling block and could open the door for Arteta’s men to move.
“Barcelona are working on another deal for Financial Fair Play: Mikayil Faye to Porto,” Romano says.
“There’s still nothing agreed. The distance on the fee is big. Barcelona have sent a clear message to Porto: they want €15-16m and also a buy-back clause of the next two years. They also want a sell-on clause. Negotiations are ongoing, the player is open to the move.”
Here we go at Aston Villa, Real Madrid and Marseille!
Romano also rounded up a string of done deals.
“Everything is signed between Aston Villa and Juventus for Douglas Luiz to join the Serie A club and for Villa to sign Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea to receive €28m as part of the deal. Everything is OK, medical tests completed,” he confirmed.
“Real Madrid have triggered the buyout from Espanyol in Joselu’s deal. It’s €1.5m but for the same amount of money will sell the player to Al-Gharafa in Qatar. Nacho to Al-Qadsiah is official.
“Olympique Marseille are on fire in the transfer market. Lilian Brassier for €11m, loan with an obligation to buy is a done deal. Ismael Kone is joining from Watford. Two fantastic signings for Roberto De Zerbi.”
