Fabrizio Romano transfer news: ‘REALLY IMPORTANT’ Man Utd update, Tuchel bomb, Ronaldo reunion
Fabrizio Romano has dropped his latest updates from the world of football transfer news, including the latest on the Manchester United manager situation, the future of Jadon Sancho and a possible reunion for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Romano kicked off by trying to explain what is happening at Man Utd, where the managerial situation continues to hang over the club more than two weeks after their FA Cup triumph over Manchester City.
One option, at least, is out the window.

“Manchester United and Thomas Tuchel are not expecting to reach an agreement to become the new manager,” Romano explained on his YouTube channel.
“We can confirm the report from Bild that Tuchel had a meeting with Man Utd. They had many contacts. Tuchel was considered the favourite candidate in case they decided to part ways with Erik ten Hag.
“So what’s going on with Man Utd? They’re having conversations with agents of several managers to make sure they assess all the options on the new manager or keeping Ten Hag.

“Tuchel was the favourite one. He had direct contacts with the club and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. But he has decided he wants to take a break from football and doesn’t want to take any club. So his decision is to leave conversations.
“The intention looks clear. Tuchel will not continue talks with Man Utd.”
’Really important’ Sancho update
If Man Utd haven’t made a decision over Ten Hag, they have been rather quicker to settle upon Jadon Sancho’s future.
Romano said: “A really important update on Jadon Sancho because the message we’re getting on his situation is very clear. Man Utd are prepared to sell Sancho this summer, regardless of the manager. The same is expected of Mason Greenwood.
“Man Utd indicated that £40 million is the fee for Sancho to leave the club and try a new challenge.
“Borussia Dortmund are obviously interested in Sancho, he’s one of their priority targets, and he’s still keen on going there. But Man Utd, from what I’m hearing, feel there could be some other possibility around Europe. That’s why, they’re open to the market.
“We don’t expect to see Jadon Sancho in the Man Utd shirt.”
Bayern set to seal major transfer
Joao Palhinha will sign for Bayern Munich imminently from Fulham in a deal worth €40-50 million, Romano claims.
“We can expect to see Joao Palhinha in a Bayern shirt next season, absolutely yes. The feeling is this deal will happen,” he says.
“Bayern have agreed personal terms with Joao Palhinha, the contract is agreed, the salary is agreed. He’s super excited. The initial proposal was €35m plus add ons, but Bayern and Fulham have talked again and have come to an agreement around €40-45m. Now Joao Palhinha expects Fulham to help him to make this deal happen.
“Why? Because the transfer was already 99.9% done last summer. Everything was set, even the pictures of Palhinha in a Bayern shirt. But Fulham were not able to find a replacement. They wanted Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and another player, and they were not able to make it happen, so the deal collapsed.
“Palhinha was super professional and played a fantastic season. This is why he now expects Fulham to give him the green light and let him sign for Bayern Munich, and I expect this transfer to happen.”
Kimmich on his way?
Romano also dropped some positive news from the clubs chasing Joshua Kimmich, of which Barcelona have been most prominent.
“On Joshua Kimmich, the situation is very clear. Bayern are not negotiating a new deal and the situation is completely quiet. The player is focused on the Euros,” Romano says.
“The feeling is that if Bayern receive an important proposal for Kimmich, they will be open to that.
“Let’s see what happens. He could be one to watch in the summer transfer window.”
Ronaldo reunion
And finally, Cristiano Ronaldo could hook up with one of his former teammates at Al-Nassr, with the Saudi Pro League side chasing former Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny.
“Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been approached by Al-Nassr. The Saudi Pro League club have offered him a two-year contract and a really important salary,” Romano reports.
“They have opened talks with the player and Juve are open to let him go because they will sign Michele Di Gregorio from Monza.
“So Szczesny can really leave Juventus. Now it’s up to him if he wants to go to Saudi Arabia and be reunited with Cristiano Ronaldo.”
