Arsenal poised to DESTROY Man Utd’s Branthwaite hopes with shock transfer bid
Manchester United’s hopes of landing Jarrad Branthwaite during the summer transfer window could be rocked as Arsenal lineup a transfer bid for another Everton star.
The Red Devils are leading the way for Branthwaite and, as FootballTransfers exclusively revealed, are hopeful that they might get a deal for the defender completed by the end of June.
But the Liverpool Echo reports that a rival bid from Arsenal for midfielder Amadou Onana could derail the plans of the Old Trafford outfit.

Everton are one of six Premier League clubs that need to make sales before 30 June to avoid a punishment for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
The Toffees are understandably keen to retain their leading players, and no one is considered more important for them than Branthwaite. He is the one they wish to retain at all costs.
Without the sale of another player, they may have been forced to bow to Man Utd, who made a bid of €41 million (£35m) for the England Euro 2024 star last week. This was swiftly knocked back by the Merseyside club amid claims it was a derisory offer.

Arsenal open Onana talks
The situation, meanwhile, is set to become drastically more complicated thanks to Arsenal’s interest in Onana, a player they have been monitoring for some time.
Mikel Arteta’s side are said to have acted on their interest in the player by opening contact with Everton about a transfer for the Belgium star.
It is stated that the Toffees want around €60m (£50m) for Onana. This figure is substantially less than their demands for Branthwaite but would likely be enough to keep them out of PSR trouble.
The upshot is that if Onana goes to Arsenal, it likely makes it impossible for Man Utd to land Branthwaite at a price they would be willing to pay.
