Liverpool miss out on teenage wonderkid as Fabrizio Romano gives 'here we go'
Despite reinforcing the midfield with four new additions last summer another midfield addition is definitely on Liverpool's radar this summer.
One player who has been coveted by the Reds is Assan Ouedraogo. Only a teenager, Ouedraogo already has a distinguished reputation in European football.
He's been a regular for Schalke's senior team since turning 17 years old, and won the U17 European Championships with Germany last summer.

The midfielder will move to RB Leipzig for the 2024/25 season. The 18-year-old has signed a five-year contract until 2029.

A technically gifted footballer who is brilliant at progressing the ball into dangerous territories, Ouedraogo has the potential to go far in the game.
However, he will not be continuing his career at Anfield for the foreseeable future at least. Instead, Ouedraogo will be making a move a bit closer to home.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the German youngster will be moving to RB Leipzig from Schalke this summer.
Wonder-kid chooses RB Leipzig
Despite interest from not just Liverpool but Manchester United and Bayern Munich, the 18 year old midfielder has opted to continue his career at Leipzig.
This seems like a smart move on paper. Leipzig are renowned for their ability to develop players and take them to the next step in their careers.

At Red Bull, Ouedraogo will be provided with a clear path and will have the time to hone his skills while continuing to play in a competitive environment.
Of course, a future move for Liverpool is still not off the cards with this transfer either. The Reds have famously brought in a lot of players from Red Bull clubs over the last few years.
From Naby Keita to Takumi Minamino and Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai. Perhaps in the years to come, Ouedraogo could be the next in line.
He’s definitely one to watch. Regarded as one of Germany’s brightest prospects, he could become even more highly sought after at Leipzig.
But for now, Liverpool’s recruitment team will have to direct their midfield search elsewhere.
