And, it seems that City have been taken aback by the Brazilian's decision.

Ederson has played in Manchester for seven seasons now and will go down as one of the greatest goalkeepers in Premier League history.

His ball-playing ability is second to none and manager Pep Guardiola would find it incredibly tough to replace him.

Saudi clubs chasing two Man City stars

Both Ederson and Kevin De Bruyne have been linked with moves to the Saudi Pro League in recent months.

According to The Mirror, De Bruyne's agents met with 10 Saudi clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Neymar's Al-Hilal, Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and Karim Benzema's Al-Ittihad are known to be three of them.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reported that Al-Ittihad are weighing up a move for Ederson.

They believe that a £25 million offer could tempt Pep Guardiola's side into selling the 30-year-old.

Al-Nassr might also look to sign the Brazilian as a replacement for soon-to-be free agent David Ospina.
