Man Utd eye transfer for top Ten Hag target with sale of €50m outcast
Manchester United could net a huge windfall to their summer transfer budget after reportedly receiving a massive bid for an unwanted star in a move which could help Erik ten Hag finance a deal for a top target.
United are likely to be operating under tight constraints this summer due to profit and sustainability rules, meaning any revamp of the playing squad would require players to be sold for substantial fees.
And United could be on course to make one of their biggest ever sales, with the Daily Mail claming that Juventus are willing to make an opening bid of £40 million (€47.5m) to sign Mason Greenwood this summer.

Greenwood has impressed on loan at La Liga side Getafe this season, grabbing eight goals and six assists in 33 games, and the 22-year-old is not thought to have a future at Old Trafford due to the controversy surrounding his arrest in 2022.
The forward is entering the final year of his contract at United and the Premier League side would prefer to cash in on him despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe admitting the club would consider ‘all options’ over his future, including bringing him back to the club.
A sale for Greenwood would help fund a move for a striker, with United understood to be keen on Joshua Zirkzee, who has a release clause in his contract at Bologna worth a reported €40m.
How Juventus hold the keys to United Zirkzee deal
United are said to have a strong interest in Zirkzee but they could face significant competition for the 23-year-old, with Milan and Bayern Munich also said to be monitoring the situation.
However, any move for the Dutch striker would likely require a sale beforehand, marking the appeal in any transfer for Greenwood, particularly to Juve who also are thought to hold an interest in Zirkzee.

But Juve are also thought to be in advanced talks to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and a priority will likely be given to that deal, which could end up having implications on any pursuit of Greenwood.
Greenwood is wanted by a number of clubs across Europe but United’s alleged asking price of €50m has proven to be a stumbling block so far.
