The Brazilian's time at Old Trafford is coming to an end. Casemiro showed his age at various points last season and Man Utd will be looking to shift his sizeable wages this summer.

The new, supposedly more ruthless regime of Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already cut loose big earner Raphael Varane and is expected to do the same with Casemiro, who was a €70 million investment in 2022.

Questions were asked when Man Utd splashed that fee on a player on the wrong side of 30 and, although Casemiro was imperious in his first season, the critics appear to have been vindicated.

As FootballTransfers exclusively revealed Casemiro is expected to end up at one of the big Public Investment Fund-owned Saudi Pro League clubs and it is now being reported that Man Utd will incur a massive loss when he ends up leaving.

Casemiro price set

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Saudi dealmakers are ready to pay €30m-€35m and potential add-ons for the 32-year-old this summer, representing a €35m-€40m loss on Man Utd's original investment.

Jacobs reports that Neymar's Al-Hilal and Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are pushing to secure Casemiro's signature, but he also mentions that the midfielder still needs some convincing before being willing to assent to a move to the Saudi Pro League.

It is asserted that a summer departure from Old Trafford is not yet set in stone and that a lot will depend on the role Erik ten Hag envisions Casemiro playing next season.

Man Utd are in the market for a midfielder to replace Casemiro, with the names of Joao Neves, Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana frequently associated with the Red Devils.
