‘Positive’ Greenwood talks as SURPRISE De Zerbi hook up planned - David Ornstein

Mason Greenwood is in talks with a new club, according to David Ornstein, with the 22-year-old striker still seeking a solution to his future.
Greenwood spent last season on loan at Getafe in LaLiga after an internal investigation by the Old Trafford club deemed him unsuitable to continue at Man Utd.
With just one year left to run on his current contract, the Red Devils are eager to sell the forward to receive a fee for him. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €20.9 million having at one stage peaked close to €77m.

Greenwood has been linked with several major clubs, including Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Lazio and Napoli, while Getafe’s president has said that he expects the once-capped England international to return to his side for another year.
Ornstein, though, has revealed for The Athletic that Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille side are seriously studying the possibility of a deal and that a conversation has been opened up between the player and the Ligue 1 outfit.

He states: “Marseille are exploring a deal to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
“Talks between the Ligue 1 club and their Premier League counterparts are at an early stage and finances are yet to be discussed.
“But Greenwood is a player Marseille are keen to recruit and they have held positive dialogue with the 22-year-old forward, who is believed to favour a Marseille over other options at this stage.”

Ambitious Marseille aiming for De Zerbi-Greenwood hookup
Marseille have already shown a degree of ambition this summer to attract De Zerbi to the club from Brighton, with the Italian manager having apparently been charmed by the passion of the fans during the Seagulls’ Europa League trip to Stade Velodrome last season.
OM have yet to make a signing under their new boss, but if they were to sign Greenwood, who scored 10 in 36 for Getafe, it would be seen as a huge statement of intent from the only French club to win the Champions League.
