It’s thought that the La Liga giants are hoping to land Mainoo and will use the winger as a way of bringing the price down, in an offer that would surely be rejected by the Premier League giants.

Mainoo was one of Man Utd’s best players in the 2023/24 season and has consequently been selected in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad for England.

Last term, he made 32 appearances across all competitions where he registered five goals and one assist.

And now reports suggest that Barcelona are prepared to offer a cash-plus-player deal involving Raphinha in exchange for Mainoo. New boss Hansi Flick is believed to admire the youngster tremendously and is now hoping to persuade the club to make an offer that would see Man Utd receive former Leeds winger Raphinha.

The coach feels that the England international would be a perfect addition to his squad at Camp Nou, especially if Barcelona fails to sign other midfield targets such as Martín Zubimendi, Amadou Onana, Mikel Merino, or Joshua Kimmich.

The Catalans are reportedly ready to offer Man Utd Raphinha plus €10 million in exchange for the young midfielder - though undoubtedly Man Utd seem Mainoo as not for sale.

Barcelona want England international

Barca have been looking to offload Raphinha for some time but they have struggled to find interested buyers for the Brazilian winger.

It’s hugely unlikely Man Utd would accept a sale of their academy graduate and reports suggest that the club are even looking to tie him down to improved terms after the European Championships are over with.

The player is happy at the club but wants to wait until after the competition to talk about a new contract at Old Trafford.
