Mason Greenwood opens SHOCK talks with crisis-hit club
Italian strugglers Lazio have accelerated their attempts to sign Mason Greenwood.
That is according to Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports that Lazio have gone on a “blitz” in the last few hours during negotiations with Man Utd.
Lazio are in the market for a new winger after losing Felipe Anderson on a free transfer. They are desperate to bring in a big name after a disastrous 2023-24 season which culminated in Igor Tudor (who only replaced Maurizio Sarri as coach in March) quitting the club at the end of the season after a fallout with president Claudio Lotito.

Greenwood is their priority target and Di Marzio says they have upped the ante in the last few hours to try and get a deal done.
A deal will be difficult as Man Utd are demanding £30 million, whereas so far Lazio have had a bid of €20m plus a 50% resale clause rejected.
Greenwood has interest from a number of European clubs, including Juventus, Valencia and Barcelona.
Greenwood to leave Man Utd?
Greenwood is certain to leave Manchester United this summer.
He joined Getafe on loan last summer after Manchester United concluded their investigation into the criminal charges he was facing last year, which have since been dropped.
United announced that Greenwood would look to continue his career away from Old Trafford, having not played a game since January 2022 following his arrest by police.

Greenwood impressed for Getafe. He scored 10 goals and got seven assists in 36 games in all competitions.
Sentiment among fans and the public in England is still negative towards Greenwood, making it easier for him to continue his career outside of the country.
This is an opinion that is shared by Greenwood himself, who wants to play in a foreign league.
