Eberechi Eze's release clause revealed as Premier League clubs circle

Eberechi Eze has a release clause of £60 million inserted into his deal at Crystal Palace, reports have suggested.

The midfielder shone in the latter stages of the Premier League season, so much so that Gareth Southgate felt compelled to include him in the final 26-man England squad ahead of Euro 2024.

Indeed, the 25-year-old enjoyed a spellbinding second half of the campaign, netting eight goals and providing three assists in 12 domestic matches.

His excellent display in Monday's 3-0 win against Bosnia-Herzegvina ensured that he made the final list for the competition in Germany.

FootballTransfers revealed that Spurs were among clubs watching the Palace player ahead of the transfer window.

And now the Daily Mail report that he has £60m clause in his Palace contract as well as a further £8m in potential add-ons.

Palace also have Michael Olise among their ranks, a player who also has a release clause in his deal thought to be £60m. The South London club, it is thought, will only only one of their star players to leave this summer.

Gareth Southgate lets players open talks

It’s thought that Southgate will let players speak to clubs ahead of proposed moves during the Euros.

The coach said: I’ve never banned players from having discussions. It's a fact of life, even if transfers don't complete, talks are ongoing, normally across the summer with players, I'm always there for them if they want to bounce things off.

"I'm always saying to them, don't get het up about things. Things will take their natural course. We are in a world where there might have to be deals done quickly, who knows but we're comfortable with dealing with all those things."

England lost to Iceland 1-0 on Friday night, their final game before the Euros. The Three Lions will then contend with Serbia in their Group C opener on Sunday, June 16.
