Olmo will wrap up his involvement at the Euros on Sunday, hoping to come out with the trophy as Spain face England, with the midfielder one of the favourites for the Player of the Tournament award.

The 26-year-old has provided three goals and two assists during Spain’s route to the final and his form has increased the attention on him, with teams from the Premier League among those ready to activate his €60 million release clause.

Manchester City

Perhaps the frontrunners to sign Olmo are Manchester City, who have had a long-standing interest in the playmaker and are in the market for a midfielder this summer.

City also have a strong relationship with Leipzig after signing Josko Gvardiol from the Bundesliga side last year and they could make an approach for Olmo even after his release clause expires.

Arsenal

Arsenal are another side who are in the market for a midfielder this summer and Olmo’s versatility would make him a natural alternative to the likes of Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

The Gunners considered signing Olmo as a youngster and the player is well known to the club, meaning a transfer could be possible despite Arteta perhaps prioritising a defensive-minded midfielder first.

Chelsea

Chelsea’s scattergun approach to transfers means that they cannot be ruled out to make a move for Olmo, having monitored the player for a long time.

However, it is thought that they are not looking to buy Olmo despite admiring him, having signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall already this summer.

Liverpool

Olmo could be seen as a natural replacement for Thiago Alcantara, who announced his retirement after leaving Liverpool this summer.

Liverpool activated the release clause of Dominik Szoboszlai at Leipzig last summer on the eve it was due to expire and, although perhaps unlikely, the Reds could make a similar late move for Olmo if they have a clear path to him.

Bayern Munich

Having spent four years in Germany already, Olmo could opt to remain in the country if Bayern Munich come calling, with the Bundesliga giants also a fan of the midfielder.

SciSports, who use data-driven analytics to assess a player, believe Bayern would be Olmo’s best choice of destination and the club’s desire to sign the top players in the league means that a transfer could be explored.

Barcelona

Having come through their academy as a youngster, Barcelona have long been linked with a move for Olmo, with the player also thought to be open to a return.

Although Barcelona’s well-documented financial issues means that they are unlikely to have the funds to pay his release clause, despite the club being keen to sign Olmo.
