Arsenal submit proposal for Ajax wonderkid - Fabrizio Romano
Arsenal are looking to make a bargain move for an Ajax wonderkid as part of Mikel Arteta’s plans to revitalise his squad for the future.
The Gunners are looking to take the steps needed to win the Premier League, having narrowly missed out on the title to Manchester City in the last two seasons.
While the priority this summer is thought to be additions to the frontline and defence, Arsenal are also anticipating a number of changes to their goalkeeping situation.

David Raya is set to continue as Arteta’s first-choice goalkeeper after making his loan from Brentford permanent, leaving former number one Aaron Ramsdale likely to be seeking a new club this summer.
Arsenal are also in talks to sign former academy keeper Dan Bentley from Wolves as an experienced backup to the squad, with the 30-year-old expected to provide some much-needed stability to the goalkeeping roster if he does make the switch.
With Arsenal already lining up their replacement for Ramsdale in Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, the club have also sought to secure their goalkeeper for the future with their latest raid on Ajax.

Arsenal make move for Setford
Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have submitted a proposal for Ajax youngster Tommy Setford, who also represents England’s under-20s at international level.
The 18-year-old’s contract at Ajax expires next summer and Arsenal are understood to have submitted an offer of €400,000 for Setford, who was born in the Netherlands.

Ajax have made an offer to keep hold of Setford, convincing him that he would be the starting keeper of the Jong team next season, however the teenager is thought to be keen on the move to Arsenal.
Ajax are holding out for a bigger fee from Arsenal if they cannot convince Setford to stay but it appears the youngster could be the newest addition to a revitalised goalkeeping setup at the Emirates in the near future.
