CONFIRMED: Chelsea may struggle to sell Chalobah despite tour omission
Chelsea will struggle to force out Trevoh Chalobah despite leaving the academy graduate out of their tour of the United States, FootballTransfers has been told.
The 25-year-old's omission from the squad for the tour is part of Chelsea’s attempt to move the player on as he’s considered up for sale and he’s no longer in their plans. However, we understand that Chalobah won't allow himself to be pushed out and will only make a transfer if it's right for himself.
We are told that Chalobah will only join a European club in the Champions League and will not entertain moves elsewhere, such as to sides in the Saudi Pro League.

The defender, whose contract isn’t up until June 2028, played in 1,227 minutes across all competitions last season. He had been training under Enzo Maresca this summer when he heard the news of his omission.
Chalobah has been with Chelsea since the age of nine and is regularly linked with moves away. It comes after our exclusive that it was Maresca who had requested the club change their transfer strategy and sign a new goalkeeper.
The Italian has been reviewing the team in action and subsequently asked the side if another name could be brought in to rival Robert Sanchez.
The Blues have looked at Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen as a possible target while Maresca is an admirer of Mads Hermansen, with both profiles aligning with the coach's desire to have a ball-playing goalkeeper.
Chelsea are hoping to bolster their attacking options and haven’t given up on Samu Omorodion of Atletico Madrid. However, the deal is tricky as the player is reluctant to move to Stamford Bridge at this point.
