PSG have tabled a €60 million offer for Desire Doue, likely ending their pursuit of Victor Osimhen for good.

The Stade Rennais winger has become the subject of a heated transfer battle between the Parisians and Bayern Munich. Both view Doue as a major target this summer despite the fact that the 19-year-old is coming off a mixed season, with Arsenal and Chelsea also having shown interest.

Doue is expected to depart Rennes and a transfer is moving ever closer. Initial offers from PSG and Bayern were rejected, with Stade Rennais holding out for a whopping €60m.

Now, L'Equipe reports - and since confirmed by Fabrizio Romano - that PSG have agreed to match Rennes' valuation of Doue, offering a financial package worth €60m. Bayern remain in the mix, but it appears that the Ligue 1 champions now have the upper hand. Doue is expected to make his decision shortly.

Osimhen domino comes to a halt

This development could have massive implications for the future of Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian wants to leave Napoli and the Serie A side are keen on cashing in on him, with Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku already waiting in the wings to replace him.

However, precious little has thus far materialised on the Osimhen front, not least because talks with PSG have broken down. The Parisians were unwilling to match Napoli's demands and they remain firm in their stance that they won't break the bank on the 25-year-old.

The successful signing of Doue for an eye-watering €60m would surely all but end Osimhen's hopes of a PSG transfer. If the Ligue 1 giants were unwilling to splash the cash on him before, they will be even more reluctant with €60m less in the bank.

The Osimhen story could yet be resolved with a move to Saudi Arabia, with Osimhen reportedly beginning to give serious thought to a move to the Middle East. For now, however, this saga remains gridlocked, with Lukaku and Chelsea also stuck in transfer limbo.
