Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell as they look for a new left-back this summer.

The 27-year-old is currently Chelsea’s vice captain, but he has been linked with a summer move following Marc Cucurella’s late season form and the imminent arrival of Basel’s Renato Veiga.

Man Utd are eager to provide Luke Shaw with regular competition and signing a new left-back is deemed a priority after Tyrell Malacia missed the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign through injury.

Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is also wanted by Man Utd, but Erik ten Hag’s side face significant competition from Chelsea and Arsenal.

As a result, they have now identified Chilwell as a possible option, according to The Daily Mail.

The Englishman has three years left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, while he has nine goals and 12 assists in 106 appearances for the Blues.

Enzo Maresca’s first interview

Enzo Maresca has conducted his first interview as Chelsea manager. The Italian has replaced Mauricio Pochettino and he spoke to the club’s media team following the start of his reign at Stamford Bridge.

“I consider Chelsea one of the biggest clubs in the world so I will feel very proud of it,” Maresca said.

“One of the reasons I’m here is because I’m convinced the squad is very good and full of talent. The most important thing now is we’re able to create the right culture that drives us for the season.

“We are going to try our best to be there, to fight and compete with the clubs that in this moment are winning and fighting to win titles.”

Marc Cucurella ‘happy’ at Chelsea

Marc Cucurella has insisted he is happy at Chelsea and will not push to leave the club this summer.

While on international duty at Euro 2024, Cucurella told reporters (as per Metro): “When you go abroad it is difficult, people see Spanish football, the club they have supported since they were little, and they lose track of you a little.

“What we are doing is very nice, there are a lot of people enjoying it and if it goes well we have a couple of games left to finish with a great championship.

“Playing in La Liga is nice, it’s my home and I would stop speaking English for a while!

“Seriously, I’m very happy in England. It’s a very good experience for my family. London is a great city to be in for a few years and today I’m not thinking about any change because my family is very happy.”

Kepa receives offer

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has a ‘significant offer’ Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad, according to Marca.

The Spaniard spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and he is expected to seal a permanent Chelsea exit this summer.

However, Kepa has reportedly asked for time before making a decision on Al-Ittihad’s offer.
