We are told that Spurs held further discussions on personal terms today after previously engaging in talks with the Wolves winger.

Ange Postecoglou is keen to revamp his side this summer and Neto features prominently in his plans after an impressive season that saw him notch 11 assists, while also netting three goals.

Speculation surrounding the Portuguese's future has been rampant for months. The likes of Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool have all been associated with the 24-year-old.

We hear that Arsenal are still very much interested in the left-footer, with the Gunners keen to secure adequate cover for their veritable ironman Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal have also looked at Nico Williams as an option for the wings, but the Athletic Club superstar has now reportedly decided to stay in Bilbao.

Spurs' Eze deal stalls

Tottenham are shifting their focus on Neto because their talks with Crystal Palace over Eberechi Eze are stalling.

The two clubs have as yet been unable to agree on a payment structure as well as the Three Lion star's overall price.

It has been widely reported that Eze has a release clause amounting to approximately €70 million, but FootballTransfers revealed on June 1 that this is not the case, at least not officially.

Rather, the player has a gentlemen's agreement with Palace that he will be allowed to leave for that sum. Our reporting has since been confirmed by Sky Sports, so formal, club-to-club negotiations are required.

And, as mentioned, these talks have thus far not yielded a satisfactory result. But it is not just Tottenham who are unwilling to pay €70m for Eze.

We understand that it is becoming increasingly likely that he will stay at Selhurst Park beyond this summer, with no clubs so far showing themselves ready to match Palace's demands.
