Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: PSG deal CLOSE, Calafiori LATEST, Man Utd RUMOURS
Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has given the latest updates from Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and more.
Chelsea launch ambitious Jorgensen bid
Chelsea have made an official proposal to Villarreal for goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, Romano has confirmed.
“It’s an important day for Chelsea. They submitted an official offer to Villarreal for Filip Jorgensen, the Danish goalkeeper who has a release clause of €45 million,” Romano said. “Chelsea offered €20m. They have a feeling internally that the deal could be done for something like €25-26m.

“There’s a lot of optimism as Jorgensen already agreed on personal terms with Chelsea. The salary, length of contract, everything is okay.
“So now the clubs are working on the details. He’s a very good friend of Nicolas Jackson and the relationship between Chelsea and Villarreal is excellent after that deal last summer.
“Jorgensen is considered one of the best goalkeepers around in terms of his distribution skills, and that’s an important skill Chelsea have been looking for as it’s really appreciated by Enzo Maresca.
“After Marseille tried to sign him for Roberto De Zerbi, they have a similar style, Chelsea have entered the race strongly.”
PSG close to Joao Neves deal
PSG have nearly completed a deal to sign Joao Neves from Benfica, according to Romano.
"Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on Joao Neves deal! New, positive round of talks again today. PSG want to get it sealed next week.
"Details of the package being discussed after €70m fee and players to include for Benfica, like Renato Sánches.
"Here we go, expected soon."
Calafiori to Arsenal in its final stages
Riccardo Calafiori’s transfer to Arsenal is now a matter of the paperwork being concluded and a medical being passed, Romano says.
“Here we go for Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal,” he announced. “Arsenal and Bologna are exchanging all the documents for Calafiori. The deal is done. In the next 24 hours, there are medical tests scheduled in the US because Calafiori will travel to join Mikel Arteta’s squad for their pre-season tour.”
De Bruyne and Rudiger to follow Diaby to Saudi Arabia?
Romano has given the latest updates on rumours in the Saudi Pro League as Moussa Diaby has completed a big move to Al-Ittihad from Aston Villa.
“In Saudi, there’s been a lot of movement in recent days,” Romano said. “We know Moussa Diaby has signed a contract as a new Al-Ittihad player, €60m to Aston Villa, five-year contract to the player. It’s an important move for Al-Ittihad manager Laurent Blanc but it’s also important for Villa because they want to sign a new offensive player.
“Their dream target is Joao Felix. From a financial point of view, it’s an expensive one with his salary and transfer fee. But they want to try.

“Kevin De Bruyne is not going to Al-Ittihad. They never presented a proposal to him, or a proposal to Manchester City. Al-Ittihad are looking for different players and know that it’s impossible to proceed with De Bruyne. It’s completely quiet. Man City really hope to see him stay for at least one more season.
“Toni Rudiger, one of the big faces of Real Madrid, has been linked with Al-Ittihad. In this case, Toni Ridiger has no intention of leaving Real Madrid and Real Madrid have no intention of parting ways with him. Everything is under control. It’s not expected to happen. They already lost Nacho and Leny Yoro signed for Manchester United.”
Aston Villa reject Jhon Duran bid
Aston Villa have rejected an offer for centre forward Jhon Duran, reports Romano.
"[I] understand Aston Villa rejected West Ham's new bid for Jhon Duran.
"£32m, Lewis Ordford and sell-on clause still not enough to meet the £40m valuation wanted by Villa.
"Negotiations continue as Duran wants West Ham, up to the clubs."
Man Utd’s left-back hunt
Manchester United are chasing a left-back this summer, but Romano admits that the identity of the players the Red Devils are targeting is still uncertain.
He explains: “Man Utd have already decided they will invest in the left-back position. Why? Tyrell Malacia is still not fit and ready to play, Luke Shaw is back but he’s always having many problems. They still need cover.
“We’ve had rumours on some players. Marcos Alonso, the former Chelsea player whose now available on a free, I wanted to say that he’s not received any approach.
“There are many rumours on other players. Sergio Reguillon, who did quite well in six months before his loan was cut, there’s still nothing concrete. In general, Reguillon was very happy at Man Utd. He loved his time there.”
Juventus step up Adeyemi push
Juventus are making concrete moves to sign speedy attacker Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.
Romano said: “He’s on Juve’s shortlist. They have made a contract proposal to Adeyemi. They’re talking on personal terms. They’ve still not made an offer to Borussia Dortmund, so we’re at the early stages of the story but contact has been made. There’s really concrete interest.”
