The Liverpool star scored 211 FPL points last year - only six players registered more - and he is set for another big campaign under new Reds manager Arne Slot.

Salah has been one of the best FPL’s picks every season since his arrival at Anfield, and 2024-25 is likely to be no different.

In second place is Cole Palmer. The Chelsea man scored 244 FPL points last year - the most of ANY player in the game - and he has been handed a £10.5m price tag as a result.

He started last season at just £5m and he has set a new record for the biggest price increase in Fantasy Premier League history.

Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and Tottenham Hotspur's Heung-min Son are tied for third place. They are both £10m in FPL 2024-25 after tallying 226 and 213 FPL points respectively last year.

Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden have been priced at £9.5m and are the joint-fifth most expensive FPL midfielders this season as a result. De Bruyne endured an injury-hit campaign last year, but Foden starred with 230 points - a tally that was only bettered by his England team-mate Palmer.

Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes is the seventh-most expensive midfielder in FPL 2024-25. The Portuguese international tallied 166 FPL points last season and is £8.5m this year.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is also an £8.5m asset after his 186-point season in 2023-24.

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) and Diogo Jota (Liverpool) are both £7.5m and they complete the top 10.

How do midfielders score points in FPL?

Midfielders have several ways of scoring points in FPL 2024-25. The most rewarding way is through goals as midfielders will earn five points for every goal they score. That is why picking a goal-scoring midfielder is vital.

Assists are also key for midfielders in FPL as they score three FPL points for every assist they contribute. That is the same amount as any other position.

Midfielders are also rewarded if their team does not concede. Midfielders will earn one point for every clean sheet they earn.

Furthermore, they will score two points if they play more than 60 minutes (excluding added-time) and one point if they play up to 60 minutes.

The final way midfielders can score points is through the FPL bonus points system. According to the official FPL website, this is how bonus points are allocated: “They [bonus points] are devised and allocated post-match according to a Bonus Points System (BPS).

“The BPS utilises a range of statistics supplied by Opta that capture actions on the pitch, to create a performance score for every player.

“The players with the top three BPS in a given match receive bonus points - three points to the highest-scoring player, two to the second best and one to the third.”

Midfielders can also lose points if they receive a yellow or red card, if they miss a penalty or if they score an own goal.
