Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s love of plundering signing from the Eredivisie and Ajax in particular is about to hit new heights, with the Dutchman ready to make a raid on a man who has only been at the Amsterdam club for two weeks.

Jelle ten Rouwelaar was only employed as Ajax goalkeeper coach two weeks ago, yet Ten Hag has wasted no time in luring him to Man Utd.

The Red Devils will pay €100,000 for the coach.

Respected journalist Mike Verweij reports for De Telegraaf that the management of the Amsterdam club will not stand in the way of Ten Touwelaar moving to the Premier League giants, where he will receive a salary three times greater than he was earning with the Eredivisie outfit.

The club’s call came as a “surprise” to the former PSV goalkeeper, who could not resist the draw of Man Utd.

“Ajax immediately agreed to his departure under the motto 'take it or leave it', because United were prepared to pay and because the Amsterdam club have two goalkeeper coaches in Erik Heijblok and Stefan Postma who can easily replace him,” the report indicates.

Man Utd's plans falling into place

Ten Rouwelaar will work with former Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana at Old Trafford and is set to form part of a new-look coaching staff that Ten Hag is putting together after he extended his contract until 2026.

Former Man Utd striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to bolster the backroom team at Man Utd along with Rene Hake, who will leave his post as head coach at Go Ahead Eagles for a move to Old Trafford.

While Ten Hag almost has his coaching staff finalised, progress with the squad has been slower.

There is, however, positive movement on the horizon. A deal of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee looks close and Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt is also apparently nearing a move to the Red Devils in a couple of transfers that will strengthen the side significantly.
