Greenwood's Man Utd exit: Deal done 'ASAP' as star '10 times better' eyed
Marseille appear to have a clear run at Mason Greenwood, with the Ligue 1 side trying to strike a deal 'as soon as possible,' according to Fabrizio Romano.
The disgraced Man Utd forward is on the way out. Though Greenwood managed to somewhat resurrect his career on loan at Getafe, his continuation at Old Trafford is out of the question.
Man Utd are looking to get rid of the homegrown and, despite his tarnished reputation, the 22-year-old has no shortage of suitors. At this point, however, a clear favourite for his signature is beginning to crystallise.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Marseille have sent a formal proposal to Man Utd for the transfer of Greenwood and new coach Roberto de Zerbi is said to be pushing for the Englishman's signature.

Lazio, who have a long-standing interest in Greenwood after trying to sign him last summer, appear to have moved on for good now. At the unveiling of new Lazio boss Marco Baroni, outspoken president Claudio Lotito seemingly confirmed that their interest has ended.
"Last year, we were 20 minutes late due to a mismatch between the markets in Italy and England and so the transfer fell through. I would have signed Greenwood last year, but you didn't even know who he was."
"But it's not just Greenwood, there are also other players that you don't even know. I could tell you a name, which I won't because I want to keep you curious, that is 10 times better than Greenwood."
Marseille pushing for deal
According to Romano, Marseille are giving 'total priority' to signing Greenwood this week. Speaking on a Playback live stream, he said: "Man Utd are open to a permanent transfer or a loan, but the loan has to be with an obligation to buy, so it's basically the same thing, the only thing changing is about the payments."
"The discussion between Man Utd and Marseille is ongoing. Greenwood is keen on the move to Marseille, Greenwood knows that De Zerbi wants him strongly as a top priority for Marseille. I can guarantee that Marseille are giving total priority to this deal this week."

"They want to make it happen as soon as possible. Man Utd want a big sell-on clause to be included in the deal for Greenwood, so there are still some points to clarify. It's still not a done deal, but Marseille sent a proposal and are advancing in talks for Greenwood."
