Manchester United retain an interest in Sergio Reguilon, who is contracted to Tottenham until 2025.

Left-back was a problem position for the Red Devils last season as Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia seldom played owing to injuries. The club brought in Reguilon on a six-month loan on deadline day transfer move but the deal expired in early January.

The Real Madrid academy graduate then spent the second half of last season on loan at Brentford for the second half of the season. The Spaniard is now back at Spurs and it’s thought that the club are looking to sell him, with one year remaining on his contract.

Spanish newspaper AS reports that Man Utd and West Ham are keen on buying Reguilon, along with Juventus.

Reguilon's future

Despite a shortage in the left-back position, 27-year-old defender Reguilon does not feature in Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the upcoming season for Spurs.

They have Destiny Udogie, who had an impressive debut season with Spurs. He has established himself as the top-choice left-back - while it's believed that Spurs are looking to bolster their defense with another left-back to add depth to the squad.

Reguilon joined Tottenham in 2020 on a five-year deal, which included a reported £27.5 million buy-back clause. His time in North London has been marred by injuries and multiple loan spells. He made a total of 67 appearances for Spurs, scoring two goals and providing eight assists.

Having spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Atletico Madrid, Reguilon then briefly joined Man Utd on a six-month loan in September last year to cover for injured players.

It's not clear how much Spurs will ask for but Man Utd should anticipate a cut-rate price for him.
