EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd and Bayern Munich target Dani Olmo move

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both interested in signing RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo this summer, FootballTransfers understands.

We have been informed that Man Utd and Bayern are both interested in purchasing Olmo, while the Red Devils have even held talks as they pursue a big-money move.

Chelsea and Manchester City have both registered interest in Olmo previously, although a move to Stamford Bridge or the Etihad Stadium now seems unlikely.

Matthijs de Ligt makes Man Utd transfer decision

Manchester United transfer target Matthijs de Ligt has made up his mind over a potential move to Old Trafford.

Indeed, according to Sky Germany, he has decided that he 'definitely' wants to be a part of Erik ten Hag's side for the 2024/25 campaign.

De Ligt worked with Ten Hag at Ajax, where he played the best football of his career. The pair won the Eredivisie and went on an amazing run to the semi-final of the Champions League.

Man Utd want Ugarte transfer as PSG reveal asking price

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique is willing to sell midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer, with Manchester United keen on a move, The Transfers Podcast can report.

Ugarte, 23, signed for PSG from Sporting CP for €60m last summer, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal.

He enjoyed a fine start to life in Parc des Princes but ultimately fell out of favour with Enrique as the season progressed.

Toney and Calvert-Lewin targeted

Man Utd are ready to turn their attention to Premier League strikers Ivan Toney and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to help fill the vacant centre-forward role they have.

Erik ten Hag’s side are on a quest to find support for Rasmus Hojlund, and while they are widely expected to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, The Athletic reports that the Netherlands international is certainly not the only target they have.

Man Utd are ready to offer around €47.5 million (£40m) to Brentford to Toney, although the Bees are expected to hold out for a transfer fee of around €71m.

Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, is a cheaper alternative at €35m (£30m) but has scored only 14 Premier League goals in the last three seasons.

Both are considered to be alternatives to Zirkzee, whose release clause stands at only €40m.

Ndoye agent confirms interest

The agent of Man Utd transfer target Dan Ndoye has admitted that the Bologna winger is open to a move to Old Trafford but warned that there are other options in the Premier League he would consider.

In Swiss paper Blick (via Tuttomercatoweb), Fahd Adamson said: “Is he appreciated by Man Utd? Well, that’s obvious. United belong to Ineos and Dan has already played for other clubs in this group: Nice and Lausanne.”

Asked about the transfer rumours surrounding the Switzerland star, he added: “Let’s see what comes of it.”

With Bologna resigned to losing Joshua Zirkzee to Man Utd and Riccardo Calafiori to Bologna, they will be loathe to lose another one of their key players.

Manuel Ugarte offer made

Manchester United’s deal to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG is advancing in a promising manner, according to FootMercato.

Ugarte has already resigned himself to leaving the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer and “sees himself” as a Man Utd player, according to the report.

There is work to be done, however, in terms of agreeing terms of a deal with PSG, who are angling to recoup as much of the €60 million they spent on the former Sporting CP player as possible.

The signs are that United will be successful in negotiating a deal around the €45 million mark, but there could be bonus payments on top of that.

Nevertheless, Ugarte offers an ideal replacement for Casemiro as a holding midfield option.

Bellingham to Man Utd?

While Jude Bellingham has been starring for England at Euro 2024, his brother Jobe has been making important decisions over his future, with the Sunderland youngster emerging as a target for Manchester United, according to TeamTalk.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Crystal Palace, but he has rejected the opportunity to move to either side.

“Sources close to the situation suggest there is a ‘belief’ in the Bellingham camp that ‘bigger’ offers will arrive if his career continues on its current trajectory, with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are keeping an eye on him from a distance,” the report states.

However, there is a further warning that “barring a major twist, the youngster isn’t going anywhere this summer”.

Man Utd plunged into PSR danger

Man Utd were given a major warning over their transfer spending on Wednesday as it emerged that they have made losses of more than £71m. Premier League clubs are only permitted to lose £105m over a three-year cycle before breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which could see them docked points.

The Athletic reported the loss took place over just three months up to 31 March this year.

United have already taken dramatic action to slash their number of employees by 25% in a bid to meet their PSR obligations, but it seems that major sales are required if they are to stay out of danger – and that may mean curbing their transfer spending.
