Man Utd Transfer News Today: Branthwaite NEW CONTRACT, Arsenal wonderkid WANTED, Amrabat DECISION
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Manchester United football transfer news updates, including the latest on Jarrad Branthwaite, Chido Obi-Martin and Sofyan Amrabat.
Jarrad Branthwaite contract
Everton are set to offer Jarrad Branthwaite a bumper new contract amid interest from Man Utd, according to The Mirror.
Sean Dyche’s side maintain their status that Branthwaite is not for sale and although the Englishman has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit, a summer move now looks unlikely.
Branthwaite starred at Goodison Park last season and is expected to remain at the club for the 2024-25 campaign - potentially with a new deal signed.

Chido Obi-Martin update
Arsenal academy graduate Chido Obi-Martin was asked to leave the club after turning down a proposal for a new deal, FootballTransfers can reveal.
The 16-year-old was pictured visiting Manchester United's training complex Carrington this week and it's believed that the club are in talks over a deal for him.

We are told that Gunners offered what was to have been deemed a fair deal, however, Obi-Martin’s representatives, which included his family, were keen to negotiate a better contract, believing his potential warranted improved terms.
In response, Arsenal maintained their firm stance and, reflecting their internal policy that any player who is open to leaving is essentially not wanted, instructed Obi-Martin’s camp to find another club.
Confirmed: Sofyan Amrabat clause won’t be activated
Manchester United will not exercise their €20m buy-clause for Sofyan Amrabat, but are open to talks over a possible permanent deal for a fee significantly below that, FootballTransfers can confirm.
We are told that club executives Omar Berrada and Dan Ashworth do not wish to sign off on a deal for the midfielder for that amount, especially given what was paid as the initial loan fee.
Amrabat is due back at Fiorentina this week but the door has been left open for a transfer to take place on different terms.
Matthijs de Ligt hope
Former Bayern Munich club president Uli Hoeness has hinted that Man Utd target Matthijs de Ligt could well leave the Allianz Arena this summer.
He told Maximilian Koch: “It's possible that a defender will leave. De Ligt is Dutch, the coach at Manchester United is Dutch…
“I would have no problem if he stays. Personally, I would not sell [Dayot] Upamecano.”
De Ligt reportedly wants to join Man Utd, although it remains to be seen if the Red Devils are able to fund a move after spending an initial €62m to sign Leny Yoro from Lille.
Xavi Simons latest
Man Utd have a “genuine chance” of signing Xavi Simons, although Bayern Munich are currently in pole position to sign the Dutchman.
Simons spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig, and he expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
A move to Bayern seems likely, but Man Utd are also interested and Ruud van Nistlerooy is confident he can persuade Simons to join the Red Devils, according to TalkSPORT’s Anil Kondola.
