Man Utd Transfer News Today: €100m BID, Sancho AGREEMENT, Arsenal wonderkid CLOSE
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Manchester United football transfer news updates, including the latest on Xavi Simons, Jadon Sancho and Chido Obi-Martin.
Huge Simons bid
Man Utd are ready to break the bank to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Xavi Simons, according to reports in Spain.
Bayern Munich are eager to sign the Netherlands international on a permanent deal this summer, but Erik ten Hag’s side aren’t willing to give up and they are lining up a €100 million bid, according to Sport.
The Red Devils believe this would "sweep away" their competition in Germany as they look to sign one of the most promising youngsters in world football.

Double West Ham raid
West Ham are trying to swoop for two stars from the INEOS orbit, according to Sky Sports. For one, the Hammers are interested in Man Utd right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Congo DR international only has a year left on his contract and is expected to leave the Red Devils this summer, with Jeremie Frimpong among the top options to replace him.
Additionally, West Ham are trying to beat Juventus to the signature of Jean-Clair Todibo. The Nice centre-back was initially slated to join Man Utd, but UEFA rules ultimately blocked the transfer. He has agreed terms with Juventus, but West Ham are trying to change his mind.
Thomas Frank provides Ivan Toney update
Man Utd have been sent a transfer warning over Ivan Toney by Brentford manager Thomas Frank.
The Red Devils have already signed Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee this summer, but Toney remains a target and a move could happen before the window closes.
However, Frank has warned that his star player won’t come cheap. He told Sky Sports: “He’s a Brentford player and I would love him to stay. That would give me a very positive challenge.

“But I haven’t met a coach who doesn’t want as many good players as possible. Right now, Ivan is a Brentford player. I know he’s enjoying his well-deserved time off after his time with England.
“I would be more than happy if he stayed with us. He’s a goalscorer and that’s very good to have in your team so if you want to buy him, it’s expensive.”
Martin Zubimendi wanted
Man Utd are among the clubs interested in signing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The Spain international will only be allowed to leave if his €60m release clause is activated, while Arsenal are also interested in purchasing him this summer.
However, Zubimendi recently admitted that he is happy at Real Sociedad and will not push to leave the club.
Matthijs de Ligt offer rejected
Bayern Munich have rejected a €35m offer from Man Utd for Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt.
That is according to Bild’s Christian Falk, who has revealed that Bayern want at least €50m, while talks are ongoing between the two clubs.
Despite the recent addition of Leny Yoro, Man Utd remain interested in De Ligt, although a deal is only likely to happen if they are able to sell one of their current centre-backs.
Man Utd to land Arsenal academy star
Fabrizio Romano has admitted that Man Utd are close to securing a deal for Arsenal’s youth star Chido Obi-Martin in what would be considered a major coup.
“Man Utd are very confident on Chido Obi-Martin. They’re convinced they can make it happen,” he told his YouTube channel.
“Chido will decide soon. It’s a matter of hours. He’s visited clubs in England and Germany. He rejected a contract at Arsenal, which was a big contract in terms of money. Now Man Utd are pushing for him and want to make it happen.”
Jadon Sancho agreement close: Ugarte deal triggered?
Red Devils winger Jadon Sancho is reportedly “close” to agreeing personal terms with PSG in a potential blockbuster transfer deal.
The Englishman spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund and is set to leave Old Trafford on a permanent deal this summer.
Sancho has been heavily linked with a move back to Dortmund or to Juventus, but he is now on the verge of finalising personal terms with PSG, as per FootMercato.
A possible move to the Parc des Princes could unlock Man Utd’s pursuit of PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, with a swap deal potentially on the cards.
Richard Rios pursued
Finally, Man Utd are eyeing up a move for Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios, according to Goal Brazil.
The Colombia international shone at the 2024 Copa America and his form at the tournament has attracted significant interest from Ten Hag’s side.
Man Utd are reportedly preparing an opening offer worth €20m.
