Mazraoui to Man Utd and five transfers that can happen this week
The transfer window is officially open and deals have started to come in thick and fast.
Clubs are actively locked in negotiations to bolster their squads for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.
With the conclusion of Euro 2024, the focus can now shift fully to these discussions, allowing teams to finalise deals as the new season approaches.
Here are five of the most notable potential transfers that could take place this week:

Filip Jorgensen to Chelsea
Chelsea are set to secure the signing of Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal. Even with goalkeepers Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic already on the roster, Chelsea has remained intent on strengthening their options between the posts and they see the 22-year-old as an ideal fit.
Jorgensen is set to undergo his Chelsea medical today and an announcement will be made later this week.
Chelsea did not initially want to sign a new goalkeeper but, as FFootballTransfers revealed, new head coach Enzo Maresca pushed them to source a fresh No.1.
Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal
Riccardo Calafiori is set to sign for Arsenal after the club agreed a deal with Bologna for around £42m. The player has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners and will be their next incoming.
The Italy international has settled on a five-year contract that will see him earn €4 million per year. The defender is now in the USA ahead of completing his move to Arsenal and meeting his new team-mates, reports Sky Sports.
Bologna were holding out for a straight €50 million transfer fee as 50 percent of the fee will go to Basel, who have a sell-on clause in the contract of the Azzurri player.
According to Resto del Carlino, Bologna are already in the market for a new defender to replace the departing 22-year-old.
Joao Neves to PSG
Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of finalising a deal with Benfica for Joao Neves, according to Fabrice Hawkins. The 19-year-old Portuguese international will sign a five-year contract, the reporter states, and the overall fee will be under €100 million.
There were earlier reports that suggested PSG had offered €70m plus Renato Sanches, but Hawkins has clarified that will be part of a separate deal entirely.
Neves is likely to arrive in Paris within the next few days to complete the signing.
Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig
Xavi Simons has decided to remain at RB Leipzig for another season, according to recent reports.
The Dutch international had an impressive 2023/24 season on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain, where he netetd 10 goals and provided 15 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
However, Leipzig emerged as the frontrunner to secure Simons for another loan spell.
The Bundesliga club's head coach Marco Rose said last week: “We’re hoping that he will be back. We are still working on him and are optimistic. We’re fighting for him, and that’s why, for me, he’s still one of our players, even though we don’t have our hands on him. For me, Xavi is an RB player.”
According to Sky Sports Germany, Leipzig is now on the verge of concluding another loan deal for Simons, extending his stay through the 2024/25 season.
Noussair Mazraoui to Man Utd
Manchester United are nearing the signing of Bayern Munich's right-back Noussair Mazraoui, having agreed on a transfer fee ranging between £15 million and £20 million, reports The Guardian.
There are still some obstacles to get over but a deal looks close after the player agreed terms. The club must ensure the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to finance the deal, but West Ham are interested.
Initially, Mazraoui was expected to join the Hammers but they couldn’t agree terms
They are now looking at Wan-Bissaka, though the two clubs still need to settle on a price.
Erik ten Hag managed Mazraoui at Ajax and he would be another one of several players the Dutchman has brought in that he used to work with.
