'No plan to part ways' - Romano denies Man Utd will sell midfielder

Manchester United will not look to sell Mason Mount despite reports, Fabrizio Romano has said.
A report from HITC stated that the former Chelsea man's position at Old Trafford was in jeopardy and the club were looking to move him on.
Despite the high expectations surrounding his arrival, with Liverpool believed to be keen on acquiring him at the time, Mount's debut season was marred with injury and underwhelming displays. He only played in 20 matches across all competitions, scoring once.

Mount was not selected in the England squad under Gareth Southgate after a poor campaign, despite being part of the Euro 2020 and 2022 World Cup teams for the Three Lions before.
The 25-year-old has a contract until 2028 at Man Utd but HITC reports that the side may now be willing to sell Mount if they receive a suitable offer.
Under new sporting director Dan Ashworth, the club have been rigorous in the market, securing teenage defender Leny Yoro and Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee. But to bring more names in they may need to offload.
The publication states that Mount and Antony could be allowed to leave, while
Casemiro is another player facing an uncertain future, as he has been linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.

Romano denies rumours
But Romano has dismissed the suggestion that Mount is one that the club wish to sell.

Writing in X, formerly known as Twitter, the Italian wrote: "Manchester United are currently not planning to sell Mason Mount despite reports.
Mount’s also only focused on Man United after unlucky first season and ready to do his best under Erik ten Hag this season. No plan to part ways."
Mount - whose FootballTransfers’ Estimated Transfer Value algorithm (ETV) ranks at €39.3 million - only joined Man Utd last summer and it would be surprising that the side would be willing to let him go so soon.
They would not receive anywhere close to the money that they initially paid for him- some €62m - so it would make sense for him to stay for another season at least.
