Arsenal and Tottenham on alert as rivals get 'anxious' over long-term transfer target
Arsenal and Tottenham could miss out on one of their long-term transfer targets to a Premier League rival, with Crystal Palace reportedly getting ‘anxious’ over the future of Eberechi Eze.
Eze has been heavily linked with a move away from Palace this summer, having been the subject of interest from Tottenham, while Arsenal had approached the England international’s agents over a move earlier in the window, as FootballTransfers exclusively revealed.
While Eze is not thought to have a formal release clause in his contract, there is understood to be an agreement that the 26-year-old can leave the club if an offer of £60 million (€70m) is received.

Having sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich for a similar amount last month, Palace are not under pressure to sell Eze, with Marc Guehi a more likely option to be sold amid interest from Newcastle and Liverpool.
However, both those teams could have a part to play in the future of Eze, with The Sun reporting that Palace are ‘anxious’ that Newcastle will target the winger if Anthony Gordon is sold to Liverpool.
Liverpool were in talks to buy Gordon in June and reports have suggested that a deal could still happen this summer, potentially leading to Newcastle moving for Eze as a replacement.
Eze could remain at Palace despite strong interest in Palace star
Eze still has three years remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park and he has not agitated for a move away thusfar, having featured for England at Euro 2024 and been encouraged by the progress shown under Palace manager Oliver Glasner.
Multiple teams remain interested in Eze such as Manchester City, who would consider a move for the attacking midfielder if Kevin de Bruyne leaves the club, however no-one has been willing to meet Palace’s price tag so far.

Tottenham are thought to have pushed the hardest for Eze but a failure to agree a payment structure with Palace has led to their attention pivoting to Wolves’ Pedro Neto, according to FootballTransfers’ sources.
With Newcastle unlikely to consider selling Gordon this summer, Eze is looking increasingly as though he will remain at Palace this season, although with Liverpool and Arsenal among other monitoring the situation, the situation could still change over the coming weeks.
