Ivan Toney could reportedly seal a surprise move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Toney, 28, has hinted at a Brentford exit for the best part of a year, but the England international looks unlikely to join another Premier League club in 2024.

Manchester United remain interested in signing him, however they have already purchased Joshua Zirkzee this summer, Rasmus Hojlund remains the club’s first-choice striker and Bruno Fernandes played as a false nine in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City.

As a result, a move to Old Trafford appears to be off the cards.

In addition, Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke and Chelsea are close to purchasing Samu Omorodion, while they remain keen on Napoli star Victor Osimhen.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Toney in recent months, but the Brentford star could be set to seal a Saudi Pro League transfer this summer.

That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Ivan Toney, one of the main strikers being considered by Saudi Pro League clubs for the final weeks of the window.

“Toney, appreciated by Al Ahli already since last January window and he’s still on SPL shortlist.

“No decision on player side, he’s assessing options.”

Victor Osimhen to Arsenal?

Furthermore, Arsenal are now “back in” the race to sign Osimhen, as per Gianluca Di Marzio.

Paris Saint-Germain’s interest has stalled, the Nigerian is seemingly disinterested in moving to Saudi Arabia, and Chelsea are set to announce Omorodion in the coming days.

As a result, Arsenal has been touted as a possible destination for Osimhen this summer.

The 25-year-old has two years left on his current Napoli contract, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €71.7 million. However, Arsenal may have to pay his €120m release clause in full if they want to sign him.
