Aaron Ramsdale latest
Wolverhampton Wanderers have lodged an offer to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on loan, as per David Ornstein.
Gary O’Neil’s side are hoping to loan Ramsdale for the 2024-25 season, while their offer includes an option to make the deal permanent, according to The Athletic reporter.
Arsenal would rather sell Ramsdale as things stand, but The Evening Standard have revealed that Bournemouth are also interested in signing the England international on loan.
Ramsdale lost his place to David Raya last season and with the Spaniard joining the club on a permanent deal this summer, he is expected to leave north London.
Mikel Merino latest
Mikel Merino’s transfer to Arsenal is not a foregone conclusion as Real Sociedad continue to play hardball on the midfielder’s price.
According to The Daily Mirror, Real Sociedad will not accept a penny less than their valuation of the Spain international.
He is still expected to join Arsenal, although the deal may not be concluded until close to Deadline Day.
Joan Garcia to join?
Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners’ interest in Garcia was first exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers and has now been backed by Ornstein and Romano.
Arsenal view the Espanyol shot-stopper as a potential replacement for the aforementioned Ramsdale, but they have not yet submitted an official bid, despite agreeing personal terms.
