Romano drops surprising update on AXED Chelsea star
Chelsea face an anxious wait in their bid to offload Trevoh Chalobah, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues homegrown is once again on the exit ramp. Already last year, Chelsea were keen to sell Chalobah, but no move ultimately materialised, with the player unwilling to join Nottingham Forest and Bayern Munich's interest being formalised too late in the window.
An injury kept him out for the entire first half of the bygone season, which meant that no club was willing to take a punt on him in January, but Chalobah now has no shortage of suitors after impressing in the second half.

The player is not necessarily keen on leaving his boyhood club, but Chelsea are doing their utmost to make it clear to him that he has no future with them, having recently omitted him from their largely unsuccessful pre-season tour of the US.
Despite this, Chalobah won't be rushed into a decision on his future.
Romano on Chalobah
According to Fabrizio Romano, the versatile defender will take his time before deciding on his next step, with Crystal Palace recently emerging as new suitors due to Marc Guehi's seemingly impending move to Newcastle.
“On Trevoh Chalobah’s situation, Crystal Palace are interested but it’s the same with clubs from abroad,” Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside. “Chalobah will take his time to decide what will be the best opportunity for him.

“What I’m told too is that Crystal Palace also have Lacroix on their shortlist, a player that’s really appreciated by Glasner. So, a decision will be made once Marc Guehi’s future is clarified as talks with Newcastle are still ongoing, not done yet.”
With the transfer window slowly but surely drawing to a close, Chelsea will be keen to finalise Chalobah's exit sooner rather than later as they are still looking to do some business. Despite Samu Omorodion's upcoming arrival, Chelsea still want to add another attacker.
