Chelsea Transfer News Today: Gallagher MESS, Guehi WINDFALL, Real Madrid RAID for 'Ramos 2.0'
All the latest Chelsea transfer news on August 3, including updates on Conor Gallagher, Marc Guehi and Maximilian Beier.
The Blues' busy summer continues, though the primary focus is now on securing some sales. Homegrown hero Gallagher is the name on everyone's lips now as his situation is threatening to get ugly.
It has been claimed that the England midfielder has turned down three contract extensions due to Chelsea only offering relatively short deals. The reason for this is that the Blues believe that Gallagher will not be more than a squad player in Enzo Maresca's system.
It is clear that Chelsea are trying to push the academy graduate out as they have already agreed a €40 million transfer with Atletico Madrid. Now, it's up to Gallagher to decide whether to make the move. Atletico expect an answer by the end of the weekend.
FootballTransfers previously revealed that there were major doubts over Gallagher's willingness to leave the Premier League and that he fancies himself to stake a place in Chelsea's side next season.

Guehi windfall
The news of Newcastle initiating talks with Crystal Palace for the transfer of Marc Guehi will have been gladly received by Chelsea. The Blues have a significant sell-on clause on the former academy prospect and will stand to benefit handsomely if he indeed makes a move.
It is expected that Guehi will be very expensive, with 20 per cent of the profits owed to Chelsea. Crystal Palace apparently value the centre-back in the same ballpark as some of the most expensive defenders in the Premier League, such as Harry Maguire and Wesley Fofana.
Palace paid €23.3 million for the England international in 2021.

Penders coach breaks silence
Genk coach Thorsten Fink has spoken about young goalkeeper Mike Penders, who is reportedly on the verge of joining Chelsea in a €20 million deal.
The German insists that the 18-year-old's demeanour has not changed despite the sudden burst of attention and that he will start the league fixture against Oud-Heverlee Leuven on Saturday evening.
"I didn't notice anything about Penders, he's just playing this weekend. I also see no reason to put him on the bench against OHL. He remains unmoved by all the attention. Mike is and remains a down-to-earth guy."
"Have I spoken to him? No, not that. When a big wave is coming, you sometimes just have to let it die down. If you start chatting to it, you create something unnecessary. No, he looks calm and is training very well. I don't expect him to be nervous on Saturday."
Dortmund pursue Beier
Earlier this week, it was reported that Chelsea were one of two Premier League clubs to have submitted 'concrete, written offers' to Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier, though talks with his club had not taken place.
Now, German media and Fabrizio Romano report that Borussia Dortmund have begun taking an interest in the German international due to the impending departures of Niclas Fullkrug (to West Ham) and Youssoufa Moukoko (to Marseille).
So far, his many suitors have refrained from engaging in talks with Hoffenheim, potentially presenting an opportunity to Dortmund to act swiftly. On Monday, it was reported that Beier is expected to leave his club within the next two weeks. He has a release clause thought to be worth €30m.
New wonderkid target?
According to AS, Chelsea and Man Utd are among the clubs keeping tabs on Real Madrid starlet Joan Martinez, who has been part of the senior setup so far this preseason.
The defensive wonderkid has impressed Carlo Ancelotti and been likened to none other than Sergio Ramos. The 16-year-old is said to have attracted the attention of clubs abroad, including Chelsea.
Due to his age, however, he would not be able to move to England until he turns 18 next year.
